The Front Cover shows the reversible H2 heterolytic splitting/H2 production by nickel diazadiphosphacyclooctane complexes [Ni(PR12NR22)2]2+ in which the nickel(II) dihydrogen complex so far remained the undetected intermediate. The use of a particular bait (para-hydrogen) allowed bringing this species to light with the help of the specially equipped submarine (PArtially NEgative Line experiments in NMR). The chosen set of R1, R2 substituents stabilizes nickel(II) hydride products, preventing their irreversible conversion into Ni(0) complexes.
