The Front Cover shows the differences in reactivity of platinum complexes bearing different N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands. Both systems are able to forge carbon-boron bonds at low temperature through the initial formation of platinum σ-BH intermediates, but as the temperature increases the process can be reversible or not depending on the NHC ligand. ItBuiPr systems can cleave the C−B bond but this process is not energetically feasible with IMes ligands.
